Opus pia was first released in an exhibition at Pepper's Gallery in Ginza in 2001. New five tracks were added to the CD. The CD and DVD can be enjoyed separately or together. Using hardly any visual effects, which were heavily used in SILICOM, Takagi pursued his expression with untouched materials, and created such amazing and beautiful effects. Thirty minute "simply recorded sound materials" on the CD give us the chance to experience his journeys. The basis of the works are the "small miracles in daily lives." Takagi says, "Traveling the countrysides in Cuba and Nepal, I discovered those small miracles: water reflecting the sunlight, children's smiles.... In the pia series, I wanted to give some form to my feelings regarding those small discoveries."
