The stairs and labyrinth emerging in the space
with overwhelming presence are all created with salt. The
salt objects were dug from salt that existed in limited time
and space, like fossils. Yamamoto says that he does not create
the shape but he "takes out" the shape as he feels
that day.@"When I started using salt as my material,
salt attracted me as it was used in funerals in Japan and
it had that slight transparency in its whiteness. However,
the salt which is a part of this work used to support our
lives. This idea made me feel that salt embraces 'the memory
